Why I Started My Bouquet Preservation Business: My Story

Your wedding day is filled with unforgettable moments, and your bouquet is one of the most meaningful symbols of the occasion.

For me, preserving wedding bouquets is more than a job—it’s a deeply personal journey.

Here’s the story of how I started my bouquet preservation business and why I’m so passionate about what I do.

The Moment That Sparked My Passion

I’ve always loved pressing flowers. For years, it was a calming hobby tied to my love of gardening. But it wasn’t until my sister-in-law’s wedding that I considered pressing wedding bouquets.

After her big day, Zoe asked me to preserve her bouquet. Seeing her face light up when I showed her the finished frame was a life-changing moment.

It was then I realised this was something I not only loved to do but wanted to keep doing for others. Look how happy I look with my first finished frame!

The Journey to Starting the Business

Starting my business was both exciting and challenging. Through experimentation and online research, I developed and honed my bouquet preservation techniques.

With a one-year-old at home, finding time to work was tough, but I squeezed it in during nap times and late evenings. Before long, I had flower presses scattered all over the house!

To create a dedicated workspace, my husband and brother-in-law built a cabin in the garden. It has become my sanctuary—a space where I can focus on transforming flowers into timeless keepsakes.

This year, I’m planning to get my youngest into nursery a few days a week to carve out even more time to grow the business.

My Vision for the Business

My goal is to become the best flower preservation artist in the North West and build a business that not only supports my family but also allows us to enjoy the things we love.

Pressed flowers, with their timeless, romantic aesthetic, are the heart of my work. Unlike modern techniques like resin, pressing captures the delicate beauty of each bloom in a way that feels both nostalgic and enduring.

I’m also committed to sustainability. From using recycled packaging to creating reusable flower presses, I aim to minimise waste wherever possible.

And what do I love most? Hearing my client’s love stories. Every bouquet tells a tale, and I’m honoured to help preserve those memories.

What Keeps Me Going

The most rewarding part of my work is transforming a bouquet from such a special moment into a piece of art.

Knowing that my clients will treasure their preserved flowers for years to come brings me so much joy.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible support of my family. My husband built my garden cabin and continues to build my flower presses, and my parents invested in my workshop. My sister-in-law’s encouragement gave me the confidence to turn my passion into a business.

Their belief in me fuels my drive to keep improving and growing.
